Its name comes from a Tupi word meaning "the old being".
Lived in Brazil, in the Santana Formation during the Early Cretaceous Period.
Was discovered in 1989 and forms part of the 200 species of Pterosaurs discovered.
Tapejara was one of the smallest Pterosaurs.
Was the first known Pterosaur to have developed a toothless beak.
Scientists are not sure if it ate fish or fruits. Some suggested that its beak was more suited for eating the existing fruits.
Its wingspan was 11.4 ft (3.5 m) long, almost the size of a VW beetle.
Pterosaurs' bones were hollow, and light which helped them to fly.
Used their crests for display and for finding a partner. ️
Lived in flocks of about 1,000 members.
